Terms & Conditions

These terms govern every booking made with Poseidon Detailing. By booking — online or by phone — you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you are the owner of the vehicle (or have the owner's permission), and that you accept the terms set out below.
1. The agreement
"We", "us", "our" means Poseidon Detailing, a mobile car detailing service trading in Rugby, Warwickshire and surrounding areas. "You" means the customer placing a booking. The agreement between us is formed when we confirm your booking by email or message.
2. Quotes and pricing
Prices shown on the website are starting prices for vehicles in standard condition. Heavily soiled vehicles, pet hair, biohazards, mould, severe paint defects, or oversize vehicles (vans, 4x4s, large SUVs) may attract a surcharge. We will tell you the surcharge before starting work; if you do not accept it, we will refund any deposit and cancel the booking.
3. Payment
Payment is taken at the time of booking via Stripe. We accept all major debit and credit cards. Cash and bank transfer can be arranged for repeat customers by prior agreement. Card data is processed by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number.
4. Cancellations & rescheduling
- Cancel or reschedule with more than 24 hours' notice — full refund or free reschedule.
- Cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours' notice — 50% of the service price is retained to cover the lost slot.
- No-shows (no contact, vehicle inaccessible on arrival) — 100% of the service price is retained.
- If we cancel for any reason (illness, weather, equipment failure), you are entitled to a full refund or free reschedule.
5. Weather & site conditions
We work outdoors on your driveway, premises, or other agreed location. By booking you confirm that:
- The location is safe, level, accessible, and has the owner's permission for the work to take place.
- An outside power source (13A socket) and access to a cold-water tap are available within 25 metres of the vehicle.
- The location is not on a public highway, in a permit-restricted area without a valid permit, or otherwise in breach of local by-laws.
We may postpone or curtail work if conditions are unsafe (lightning, gale-force winds, freezing temperatures for machine polishing, etc.). In that case we will reschedule at no charge or refund the unworked portion.
6. Pre-existing damage
Before starting work we will photograph any pre-existing damage we identify, including stone chips, scratches, cracked trim, oxidised lacquer, dented panels, loose badges, and worn rubber. These photos form part of the booking record. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or for damage that becomes visible only after cleaning (e.g. paint defects previously hidden by dirt or wax).
If you believe any photographs misrepresent your vehicle, raise it before we start work.
7. Our liability
We carry public-liability insurance and treat every vehicle with care. However:
- Our total liability for any single booking is capped at the price paid for that booking, except in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud — neither of which we ever exclude.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (loss of use, hire-car charges, loss of earnings, depreciation).
- We are not liable for the failure of pre-existing components disturbed during normal cleaning (e.g. perished rubber seals tearing under contact, loose badges falling off, plastic trim cracking when flexed, brittle paint flaking from a vehicle previously refinished).
- We are not liable for items left inside the vehicle. Please remove valuables, loose change, electronics, and personal documents before we arrive.
- Claims must be raised in writing to [email protected] within 7 days of the work being completed, with photographs and a clear description of the issue.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law, including statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
8. Service guarantees
Ceramic-coating durability claims (e.g. "5-year coating") apply only when the vehicle is maintained in line with our written aftercare advice — typically: no automated brush car-wash, no abrasive sponges or kitchen detergents, and a hand-wash schedule appropriate to the coating's specification. The 3-year guarantee on our 5-year coating package is conditional on at least one monthly exterior service booked through us during the guarantee period.
9. Photography
We may take photographs of work in progress for use in marketing materials, on social media, and on this website. Photographs will not include personally identifying details such as your number plate or address. You can opt out by emailing us before we begin work; doing so does not affect the booking.
10. Complaints
Please contact us first. Most issues are resolved within 48 hours. If you remain dissatisfied, you may refer the dispute to a small-claims court in England and Wales. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
11. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one shown on this page at the time you placed the booking. Material changes will be flagged on the home page for at least 14 days.
